Founder's Mission Statement
To honor the treatment I received from my
acupuncturists through extending the same considerate care to my patients.
To communicate clearly, thoughtfully &
compassionately with patients, peers & public in order to further
understanding of the world of Traditional Chinese Medicine and its roots
in Daoist Medicine.
To maintain and continually recreate a physical,
emotional & mental environment where patients & feel respected, nurtured
& safe.
To remember that my profession is a call to service,
and pragmatism in business allows me to serve.
To respect & protect the sexuality of
all patients by strictly adhering to all appropriate boundaries; to insure
that patients, partners and coworkers do the same and thus protect the
doctor/patient relationship.
To remind myself, my patients, & my
peers that creativity, play & relaxation are a vital part of a healthy
lifestyle & that they are powerful tools in regaining wellness.
To continue to learn about all aspects of the disciplines
of Traditional Chinese Medicine, Daoist Medicine, and internal martial arts,
and to pass on this knowledge to patients, students, the public, and health
care practitioners from other disciplines.
To actively build my practice every day with a focus
on the long-term evolution of acupuncture & Traditional Chinese Medicine
as holistic therapies that have an ancient, time-tested history and the
philosophical depth to meet the challenges of approaching and relieving present
& future illnesses.
To embody the principle of change as the nature of things
in my practice and my life, and to honor the cyclical relationship between
illness and wellness.
To make each treatment a thanks to the Creator, a prayer
to St. Hildegard , St. Bride and Kuan Yin, an offering to Raven, a reunion
of body and spirit, a karmic closure, a gift from the heart, a space for
the miraculous to manifest.
